Imagine your church or organization full of "sent out" communities of multiplying disciples. What could the impact be in your church and city in the years ahead?
Every Christ-following leader wants to make disciples of Jesus who make more disciples. The question we face is how to do so effectively without overwhelming the people in your unique context.
The Jesus Pattern Network serves churches and organizations looking to inspire and equip their people to embrace their identity as ambassadors of Jesus.
Our approach is built on Jesus’ visionary statement, delivered as he met the frightened disciples right after His resurrection and death’s defeat.
Gathered and anxious in a closed room, Jesus appeared in the flesh and calmed those gathered with these words, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21)
These words of peace and purpose were a turning point for Jesus’ followers. Seeing Jesus in the flesh, hearing Him talk, and receiving their marching orders, the church was launched in the power of the risen Christ!
Then in Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus provides his followers their mission statement: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Ambassadors of Christ embrace their identity by modeling their life after the example of Jesus and commit to the mission of being disciples who make disciples.
What is a disciple? For this definition, we turn to Jesus’ explanation of the “good news” in Mark 1:14-17.
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”...“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” (Mk 1:14-15, 17, NIV)
According to Jesus, a disciple is someone who follows Jesus, is being changed by Jesus, and is personally committed to the mission of Jesus.
The Jesus Pattern Network offers training designed to make disciples according to Jesus’ definition. The following is a list of training options:
Our training is hands-on, field-based, and contextual. We will be with you every step along the way!
